Long known as a "hidden gem," Tarpon Bay Yacht Club is a 55+ active adult waterfront condominium community in Port St. Lucie, on Florida's Treasure Coast. We're located on the shore of Kitching Cove, six miles up the North Fork of the St. Lucie River. The protected cove is known to local boaters as a hurricane hole. Just down river there's access to the Okeechobee Canal that leads to the Gulf of Mexico, as well as to the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) and the Atlantic Ocean via the St. Lucie Inlet.
The nearest international airport is in West Palm Beach, an hour's drive to the south.
Tarpon Bay Yacht Club is nestled in a parklike setting with two ponds, a nature preserve, fruit trees and a walking trail. Inexpensive dockage is availalble to unit owners for boats up to 50' (6' draft). We have a large heated pool and two saunas. The Clubhouse has a library, pool table, reading room, and a common area with bar and full kitchen for social events. Barbecue grills are located near all buildings and on the pool deck. We even have a well-equipped community workshop.
A variety of activities take place in our Clubhouse, such as Mah Jongh, bridge, book club, weekly happy hour and monthly theme parties. There are also water exercise and fitness classes. Sailing, kayaking, canoeing and fishing are popular pastimes, as are pickleball, tennis and shuffleboard. The TBYC Cruising Squadron plans monthly boat outings. All of our activities and events are organized by volunteers and are open to all who live here and their guests.
Several residents are golfers, with the Saints of Port St. Lucie Golf Course and Club Med Sandpiper Bay Golf Course practically within walking distance.
